Gallery: Scenes from MPI WEC 2014

Minneapolis was a meeting mecca August 2-5 as close to 2,000 meetings and hospitality professionals came to town for education, networking, inspiration, and a little bit of fun at the 2014 edition of Meeting Professionals International's World Education Congress. They got all that and more at over 150 sessions: keynote addresses by the likes of physician and author Deepak Chopra and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Deputy Chief Economist J.D. Foster, PhD; Ted-talk—style Flashpoint sessions on everything from how to put people over profits to learning about leadership from sled dogs; and intimate, casual Campfire sessions that featured actual flames, albeit virtual ones. The conference also included an outdoor reception by the banks of the Mississippi at the Mill City Museum; two fun-filled fundraisers, The Big Deal and Rendezvous; and the chance to experience all kinds of cool technology, including a group game of Pong, during general sessions.

Here's a glimpse into some of the people and activities from this year's MPI WEC. All photos provided by MPI courtesy of Orange Photography.
